Exposure of Desire II
An Intensified Detail – Diptych: Part II
Exposure of Desire II serves as a potent companion to Exposure of Desire: Part I and an intensified, specific detail to When the Soul Awakens Before the Body, Between What Was and What Is to Come.
It is a closer, more intimate examination of the form, focusing tightly on a single curve — the breast — which is visually amplified by its context. The soft, luminous segment of the form is placed against an absolute, void-like black panel, which acts as the impenetrable darkness of what was. Thin gold lines divide the segments, converging on a textured gold nexus that draws the eye with magnetic force. This work emphasizes the visibly prominent canvas texture, reminding the viewer that they are witnessing a deliberate artistic translation of energy rather than a reflection of reality. It captures the decisive moment of emerging from isolation, where the form — and by extension, the self — must assert its light against a consuming darkness.
“In this second panel, the focus intensifies. It represents the internal light of the soul pushing through to the surface. It is the moment when the essence must push past the darkness of the past and accept its own luminous form. It is the definitive 'awakening' within the body.”
