About Jan
"A hundred-year-old piano placed in my childhood room developed a strong sense for harmony in me and apparently started my longing for art. Today, the main driver for my own creations is the fight between harmony and chaos, the search for the ultimate equilibrium."

Introduction

I would like to warmly invite you to our upcoming joint exhibition, In Between, which I am presenting alongside my sister-in-law, Renata Edlmanová.

The title "In Between" reflects the spaces that connect and divide us—the quiet dialogue between two distinct artistic voices, the personal and professional milestones in our lives, and the subtle threads of communication that pass between people. Though linked through family, each of us navigates a unique creative path. This exhibition creates a shared space where our individual expressions meet, contrast, and resonate with one another.

In this exhibition, Renata Edlmanová presents a compelling selection of her latest works in textile art and art quilt. Through tactile textures, intricate stitching, and rich material layering, her pieces explore internal landscapes and the subtle nuances of human emotion, inviting viewers to pause and discover the quiet moments that exist between thought, feeling, and visual form.

Alongside Renata's new creations, I will be presenting new works in Geometric Deconstruction, continuing my exploration of circular geometry and equilibrium, where figurative forms are deconstructed and reimagined. In addition to these structured compositions, I am also sharing a collection of older, previously unpublished pastel works. This series directly explores the intense dialogue and friction between the mind and the heart—a theme that deeply resonates with me in my current work and life.

Together, our artworks do not merely stand side-by-side; they engage in an unspoken conversation—between precision and expression, structure and fluid emotion, individual milestones and shared history.

The exhibition takes place at Roztyly Plaza, a modern and dynamic space that provides an ideal backdrop for this artistic dialogue.

The vernissage will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, from 6:00 PM.

We would be delighted if you could join us for this special evening—to enjoy a glass together, experience the new collections, and explore the subtle, meaningful spaces that lie in between.
