About Jan
"A hundred-year-old piano placed in my childhood room developed a strong sense for harmony in me and apparently started my longing for art. Today, the main driver for my own creations is the fight between harmony and chaos, the search for the ultimate equilibrium."

Introduction

I am delighted to warmly invite you to my upcoming exhibition “Sakura Time”, which brings together five friends and five distinctive artistic approaches from the contemporary visual arts scene. The exhibition is a meeting of diverse paths, techniques, and ways of thinking about the image — from structure, through emotion, to the power of the moment.

🌸 Featured Artists:

Jan Edlman
Painter, sculptor, and writer, whose works are created in the spirit of geometric figurative deconstruction, exploring the balance between harmony and chaos within visual structures.

Marek Odrobina
His abstract paintings are spontaneous, emotive, and intensely colorful. They emerge from inner rhythm and gesture, yet carry a surprising coherence and a distinct personal logic.

Renata Edlmanová
In her textile works and art quilts, she combines drawing, painting, and precise textile craftsmanship. Her pieces appear delicate and intimate, yet bear a strong visual and narrative imprint — like a visual diary of time.

Petr Ptáček
Painter, graphic artist, and illustrator, whose work moves between technical precision and poetic insight. His pieces often connect the worlds of mechanics, architecture, and human imagination with subtle humor and the calm perspective of an experienced observer.

Roman Sedlák
He focuses primarily on photorealistic and realistic painting, emphasizing technique and the power of the captured moment. Machines, structures, and mechanical details in his works are not just objects but carriers of tension and energy. Technical thinking and hands-on work with materials permeate his personal life as well — in his free time, he is dedicated to restoring vintage cars, which naturally informs his artistic practice.

The opening will offer an opportunity to meet the artists in person, gain insight into their thinking, and enter the dialogue that the exhibition invites. Light refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition “Sakura Time” celebrates transience, balance, and the moment when things come into motion — as quietly and naturally as the blooming of the cherry tree.

🌸 We look forward to seeing you there.
